The 6th World Nomad Games have officially opened in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, bringing together athletes, cultural representatives and international guests for a major celebration of nomadic heritage.
The opening ceremony will take place at the newly built Bishkek Arena, with numerous foreign dignitaries expected to attend, including presidents and prime ministers, according to 24kg.
Azerbaijan will be represented at the World Nomad Games across sports, cultural and scientific programs, highlighting the country’s participation in the international celebration of nomadic traditions.
The Games are expected to bring together participants from numerous countries and showcase traditional sports, cultural heritage and the shared history of nomadic civilizations.
The sporting event coincides with a major diplomatic gathering in the Kyrgyz capital.
On September 1, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov will chair a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), as well as a high-level SCO Plus meeting.
The leaders are expected to discuss pressing international and regional issues and priorities for the SCO’s future development.
The agenda will include cooperation in politics, trade and the economy, transport and logistics, digitalization, environmental protection, and cultural and humanitarian affairs.
Following the summit, the participating countries are expected to sign the Bishkek Declaration marking the 25th anniversary of the SCO, along with other documents and decisions aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation and improving the organization’s activities.
With the World Nomad Games and SCO summit taking place in Bishkek at the same time, Kyrgyzstan is set to become a major regional gathering point for sports, culture and diplomacy.
