Kyrgyzstan Celebrates FAO’s 80th Anniversary with Special Stamp Series

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), working together with Kyrgyz Pochtasy JSC, has issued a commemorative stamp series to mark the FAO’s 80th anniversary.

The series includes three beautifully designed stamps, each featuring a child dressed in traditional Kyrgyz garb, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.

According to the FAO Representation in Kyrgyzstan, the designs combine agricultural themes - vital for food security - with the country’s cultural heritage and customary hospitality.

In recognition of local identity, the children portrayed on the stamps were given symbolic names by FAO staff: Telegei (vast expanse), Bereke (abundance), and Bakyt (happiness).

An official cancellation ceremony for the stamps was held in Bishkek as part of the World Food Day observances.

This release is one of many events organized across the country this year to celebrate FAO’s eight decades of advancing sustainable agriculture and global food security.

The stamps are now available at Kyrgyz Pochtasy post offices nationwide and will also be offered through major international philatelic platforms.
