Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu received Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the current state of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation was discussed, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kabar news agency.
The parties also exchanged views on issues of building up inter-parliamentary relations.
The speaker congratulated the ambassador on the beginning of her diplomatic activity in Kyrgyzstan. "The two nations, living side by side since time immemorial, are united not only by good neighborliness, but also by deep historical ties spanning thousands of years. I am confident that as an experienced ambassador, you will be able to make a significant contribution to the development of the existing level of cooperation and the implementation of important interstate projects," he said.
In addition, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu outlined the active development of bilateral relations in recent years, the regular organization of visits at the highest level. "As a result, the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway has begun - a large-scale project that remained on paper for a long time, but has finally begun to be implemented. This project, called the construction of the century, will benefit not only the three countries mentioned, but also many other countries of the world," he emphasized.
t the meeting, the speaker also touched upon trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties. "Currently, Kyrgyzstan and China are actively cooperating in all key sectors, implementing joint investment projects in such areas as energy, infrastructure and production. We are interested in further deepening our relations and successfully implementing the agreements reached as a close neighbor and strategic partner. In this context, parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role. In September last year, we paid an official visit to Beijing, where we held significant talks aimed at expanding our cooperation,” he said.
Ambassador Liu Jiangping spoke about the upcoming work within the framework of her diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan. “The People's Republic of China, including its leadership, attaches particular importance to cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. As an ambassador, I am ready to continue strengthening the existing friendly relations. There are many agreements and arrangements between our countries that need to be successfully implemented,” she said.
In addition, the ambassador noted the important role of the parliament in interstate relations and pointed out the need to develop Kyrgyz-Chinese friendship on international platforms.
Liu Jiangping was appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic at the beginning of the year.
