Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov has met with Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the EEAS, during the High-Level Dialogue on Policy and Security between Central Asia and the EU to discuss strengthening political and economic cooperation.
Abakirov provided an update on the country’s ongoing political and social reforms, highlighting efforts to strengthen democratic governance, uphold human rights, and pursue sustainable economic development, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
He also outlined the government’s priorities for institutional transparency and civic engagement.
Both sides reviewed the progress of current EU-supported programs in Kyrgyzstan and discussed avenues for expanding collaboration across various sectors, including governance, economic resilience, and civil society development.
In addition, the officials exchanged views on upcoming high-level visits, reaffirming their shared commitment to enhancing strategic ties and maintaining regular political dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and the EU.
