Global oil prices reached $119 per barrel on March 9, raising concerns about a gradual increase in fuel costs in Kyrgyzstan amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Kanatbek Eshatov, head of the Kyrgyz Association of Oil Traders, said that fuel prices in Kyrgyzstan are heavily influenced by global market conditions, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
"Price increases are possible, as the geopolitical situation directly affects oil and oil product costs. Since February 1, we’ve already seen gradual rises of about 30-40 tyiyins," he explained.
Eshatov reassured that Kyrgyzstan currently has sufficient fuel reserves, with supplies of gasoline and diesel estimated to last around two months.
He added that spring agricultural activities are fully supported, with the sector receiving all necessary fuel and lubricants. Deliveries continue without interruptions, and there is no shortage on the domestic market, ensuring stability despite rising international prices.
