Kyrgyzstan is taking another step toward strengthening economic cooperation with China, with plans to open a new Chamber of Commerce and Industry office in Xinjiang aimed at supporting businesses and attracting investment.
The announcement was made during the Xinjiang-Kyrgyzstan Investment and Foreign Trade Forum, where representatives of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the country’s business community discussed new opportunities for cross-border cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Kabar.
According to the Chamber, Chief of Protocol Kubanychbek Isabekov highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s strong economic performance, noting that the country has maintained growth rates exceeding 11% while continuing to improve its business environment.
He also pointed to Kyrgyzstan’s performance in the World Bank’s Business Ready 2025 ranking, where the country placed 54th among 101 economies, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance conditions for investors and entrepreneurs.
A key outcome of the forum was the announcement of a new Chamber of Commerce office in Xinjiang. The office is expected to serve as a bridge between Kyrgyz and Chinese businesses, facilitating partnerships, promoting investment projects, and providing support for companies seeking to expand across borders.
The initiative comes as economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and China continue to deepen. Improved trade connectivity and growing investment cooperation are increasingly viewed as important drivers of economic growth in the region.
The move follows strong economic results for Kyrgyzstan, which reported GDP growth of 12.4% in the first four months of the year, with the economy reaching 602.8 billion soms (approximately $6.9 billion), underscoring the country’s expanding role in regional trade and investment.
