Kyrgyzstan Pays Tribute to Great Uzbek Poet with New Monument in Osh

The timeless scientific and literary legacy of great Uzbek poet Alisher Navoi, a source of pride for all Turkic-speaking nations, has been recently honored with the unveiling of a new monument in the city of Osh, Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bolotbek Bayetov, Chairman of the Osh City Council of People’s Deputies, noted that honoring Navoi’s memory and invaluable contributions is a shared responsibility for all Turkic peoples, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

According to the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, the monument has been placed at one of Osh’s historic landmarks. The site is expected to host regular cultural events and educational programs dedicated to exploring and promoting Navoi’s works and ideas.

Monuments commemorating Alisher Navoi have already been established in Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran, China, and South Korea, reflecting his far-reaching influence across both Turkic and global cultural landscapes.
