Kyrgyzstan Posts Fastest Economic Growth in Eurasian Economic Union

Kyrgyzstan recorded the highest economic growth rate among members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in 2025, continuing its strong economic momentum across the region.

Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU Coordination Department at Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce, said that the country’s GDP grew by an impressive 11.1% last year, The Caspian Post reports via 24.kg.

Speaking after a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Shymkent, Elimbek said Kyrgyzstan has consistently led EAEU countries in GDP growth in recent years - and the trend is expected to continue.

Overall GDP growth across the EAEU reached 1.7% in 2025, according to the macroeconomic report presented at the meeting.

Forecasts from the Eurasian Economic Commission project Kyrgyzstan’s economy will expand by 8.6% in 2026 and 8.9% in 2027, maintaining one of the highest growth rates in the region.

Elimbek also noted that the investment portfolio of the Eurasian Development Bank in Kyrgyzstan now exceeds $400 million, highlighting growing regional investment interest in the country’s economy.
