Kyrgyzstan Ratifies Migration Cooperation Agreement with Azerbaijan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has signed a law amending the "Law on Ratification of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Cooperation in the Field of Migration." This amendment relates to an agreement signed on April 24, 2024, in Baku.

The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on December 11, 2024, the press service of the president said, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.

The law was adopted to implement internal procedures for the entry into force of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of Azerbaijan on Cooperation in the Field of Migration, signed on April 24, 2024 in Baku.

This Agreement provides for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of migration, ensuring the protection of the rights of citizens of one state located on the territory of the other state, as well as the mutual exchange of information and experience in accordance with national legislation and international obligations of these states.

As previously stated, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were set to strengthen cooperation in migration, protection of citizens' rights and interests.
