In Kyrgyzstan, the color of a vehicle is no longer just a matter of personal taste-it plays a significant role in determining its market value and how quickly it sells.
This insight comes from ATLAS, an analytical property valuation system that recently analyzed the color preferences of car owners across the country, The Caspian Post reports per Kyrgyz media.
White Dominates the Roads
White leads as the most popular car color, accounting for 30.1 per cent of vehicles nationwide. The preference for white is driven by practical reasons: it reflects sunlight better, keeping cars cooler, appears cleaner in dusty environments, and is seen as a versatile choice that is easier to resell. White cars consistently perform well on the used car market.
Silver: The Practical Favorite
Silver ranks second with 24.3 per cent of cars sporting this color. It is favored for its ability to hide dirt and scratches, reducing maintenance costs. Silver cars retain their value well and strike a balance between style and practicality, making them a steady choice for many buyers.
Black: The Classic and Luxurious Choice
Black vehicles make up 20.9 per cent of the market. Though they require more frequent cleaning and careful upkeep, black cars are valued for their elegant and premium look. Buyers who choose black tend to invest in maintaining their vehicle’s appearance, which often translates into higher resale prices.
Gray and Blue: The Underdogs
Gray, covering 15.4 per cent of cars, is viewed as a neutral option, falling between silver and black in popularity. While gray cars are not difficult to sell, they typically do not command as high a resale value or liquidity.
Blue, the least common of the basic colors at just 9.3 per cent, is considered a riskier choice. Blue cars tend to stay longer on the market and often require price cuts to sell, as their distinct color affects buyer appeal.
Experts highlight that color impacts key factors such as:
Liquidity: Popular colors like white, silver, and black sell faster.
Residual Value: Cars in popular colors depreciate more slowly, benefiting owners planning to resell.
Appraisal Value: Professional appraisers factor color into pricing, with white and silver vehicles often receiving higher valuations, a trend backed by market data.
