Kyrgyzstan Trials First Underwater Drone on Issyk-Kul Lake

The first practical tests of an underwater drone have taken place on Issyk-Kul Lake in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

The drone, handed over to the district police department, successfully located and removed an old fishing net from the lake bottom, proving its effectiveness, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Issyk-Kul district head Japarbek Ormonov and local officials participated in the trials. The police department plans to use the drone for water safety, search operations, and environmental protection, assisting to preserve the lake’s ecology while enhancing public security.
