Kyrgyzstan, TURKPA Discuss Uzbekistan's Membership

Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu has met with Ramil Hasan, Secretary General of TURKPA, to discuss Uzbekistan’s progress toward full membership, expanded cooperation with Hungary, and stronger ties with European institutions.

During the meeting, Hasan briefed the Kyrgyz side on TURKPA’s recent activities, efforts to expand cooperation with international parliamentary organizations, and priority areas for 2026, The Caspian Post reports via TURKPA.

Particular emphasis was placed on steps taken to raise TURKPA’s visibility and profile on global parliamentary platforms.

In addition, the sides highlighted the importance of upcoming TURKPA events, including informal meetings of parliamentary speakers from member states scheduled on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul. Preparations are ongoing for the 15th TURKPA Plenary Session, which will be hosted by Kyrgyzstan in the near future.
