Director of Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency Farhat Iminov has met with US Ambassador Lesslie Viguerie to discuss ongoing investment cooperation and joint projects.
The talks focused on the current investment climate and new initiative opportunities, with special attention to existing American projects in the country, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
A major highlight was the strategic "Makmal - Karakol" project, developed by a consortium including All American Rail Group and Kyrgyz Temir Jolu (Kyrgyz Railways), which aims to boost Kyrgyzstan’s transit capabilities.
Viguerie emphasized the need to streamline business procedures to facilitate project implementation and expressed strong interest in expanding the partnership.
The meeting also addressed Kyrgyzstan’s digital economy progress. Since adopting the 2022 Law “On Virtual Assets,” the country’s cryptocurrency turnover reached $7 billion in 2024, positioning Kyrgyzstan as a leader in blockchain, mining, AI, and digital assets in Central Asia.
The US delegation praised Kyrgyzstan’s innovative digital som currency as a sign of the nation’s digital transformation efforts.
Iminov confirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting international investors and fostering cooperation between the government and business sectors.
