Russia, Kyrgyzstan Celebrate 155 Years of Educational Cooperation

Director of the International Cooperation Center at the Russian Ministry of Education Sergey Malyshev has announced that this year marks the 155th anniversary of educational cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

Malyshev traced the partnership back to 1870, when a parish school was established in Tokmak with teachers from the Russian Empire, marking the beginning of formal educational ties between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

He outlined key areas of contemporary collaboration, noting that in the last academic year, 200 Russian teachers participated in the “Russian Teacher Abroad” program, working at schools across Kyrgyzstan.

The initiative emphasizes professional development, methodological support, exchange of best practices, and the introduction of a dual mentorship system.

Malyshev emphasized that these efforts are designed to enhance the quality of education and reinforce humanitarian and cultural connections between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
