At Least One Dead, Ten Injured in Balakliia Missile Strike Near Ukraine's Kharkiv

At least one person has been killed and ten others injured after a missile strike targeted the center of Balakliia, a town in Ukraine’s Kharkiv city.

The missile, believed to be an Iskander-M, struck a residential area near a five-story apartment building around 7:05 p.m. (GMT+3), The Caspian Post informs per Ukrainian media.

The blast caused significant damage to several nearby structures, including a café, pharmacy, multiple shops, an administrative building, and several parked vehicles.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, working to clear debris and assist those affected by the attack.

In recent months, Russia has intensified its missile strikes on Kharkiv-the second-largest city in Ukraine located just over 20 kilometers (15 miles) from the Russian border-alongside attacks on smaller towns within Kharkiv Oblast, escalating tensions in the region.
