Kremlin Welcomes Zelensky's Willingness to Negotiate

The Kremlin positively assesses Vladimir Zelensky's readiness to sit down at the negotiating table, but there is a problem with his self-imposed ban on talks with Moscow, Russian presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Positively," the spokesman said in response to a question. "The problem is who should sit at the negotiating table. So far there is still a legal ban imposed by the Ukrainian president on talks with the Russian side. That's why, in general, we assess it positively, but there are still nuances that remain unchanged," Peskov pointed out, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

US President Donald Trump has said that he had received a letter from Zelensky, where he said he was ready for negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The letter was sent a few days after a spat between Trump and Zelensky at the White House, as a result of which the US leader said that the head of the Kyiv regime was disrespectful and showed unwillingness for a peaceful settlement.
