Polish Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has announced that Poland and Ukraine are set to sign a new agreement on cooperation in unmanned technologies.
Kosiniak-Kamysz made these remarks during his visit to Kyiv, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
The agreement will focus on developing joint initiatives and training military personnel, drawing on Ukraine’s battlefield experience with drones. “We will sign a cooperation agreement between our ministries, as well as on acquiring skills in operating unmanned aerial systems. The discussions will focus on creating joint industry initiatives,” he said.
The minister stressed that integrating Ukraine’s expertise is key to transforming the Polish Armed Forces and enhancing NATO capabilities. Special attention was given to the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Centre (JATEC) in Bydgoszcz, Poland, described as the only institution that “truly connects NATO and Ukraine.”
Kosiniak-Kamysz highlighted Ukraine’s readiness for collaboration and underlined that emotions in bilateral relations should not affect strategic objectives.
During the visit, the minister met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, and other officials. He arrived in Kyiv earlier this morning with a delegation from the Polish Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces.
