Russian Missile Strike Hits Odesa Region, Civilians Among Casualties

In the early hours of September 23, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Ukraine’s Odesa region, targeting civilian infrastructure and causing multiple casualties.

The strikes hit the town center of Tatarbunary and areas in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, leaving a trail of destruction, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Images released by the prosecutor’s office show destroyed buildings, burning debris, and emergency services clearing rubble from heavily damaged streets.

One civilian - a 60-year-old woman - was killed in the attack. Two men, aged 66 and 49, sustained injuries; one remains in hospital.

The assault also destroyed two recreation centers, damaged three more, and inflicted damage on four office buildings and three vehicles.

Personnel from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), local police, and prosecutors are working at the scene to investigate and document the aftermath.
