Two Drones Strike Russia’s Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, Emergency Teams Respond

Head of Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov has said that two drones attacked Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC.

“A terrorist attack targeted Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat. Two airplane-type drones struck the facility. Both passive and active defense systems were activated, and the plant’s security forces opened fire to neutralize the threat. We are currently extinguishing the fire, and all emergency services are on site,” Khabirov said, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

He noted that there are no casualties, and the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat operates a full cycle of hydrocarbon processing, producing gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and other petroleum products, as well as liquefied gases, butyl alcohols, plasticizers, polyethylene, polystyrene, ammonia, and urea. The company’s structure includes a refinery, a petrochemical plant, and the Monomer plant.

The sole owner of Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is Gazprom Dobycha Tambey LLC, which develops the Tambey group of fields in the northern Yamal Peninsula.
