Russian president’s press-secretary Dmitry Peskov has announced that President Putin’s annual “Direct Line” Q&A session will once again be merged with his traditional large press conference and is scheduled to take place in December.
“As for the Direct Line, this year, as in previous years, it will be combined with the President’s major press conference. It will be held in December, with the exact date to be announced later. Preparations are already underway,” Peskov stated, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
In 2024, the “Direct Line” was also combined with the large press conference “Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin.” The event took place in Moscow on December 19 and lasted four and a half hours. During this time, the president answered 76 questions from citizens, covering topics such as military actions in the Kursk region, the reconstruction of newly integrated regions, the new “Oreshnik” weapon, the situation in Syria, and contacts with Donald Trump.
Putin also commented on the slowdown of YouTube. The broadcast of the Direct Line attracted an average audience of 17 million Russians over the age of four, setting a three-year record.
