Ukraine Confirms Russia’s Military Death Toll Tops 1 Million

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that Russia’s military losses since the beginning of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have surpassed 1 million personnel.

According to the latest update issued on July 4, Ukrainian military officials estimate that 1,024,210 Russian troops have been killed, wounded, or captured over the course of the 28-month-long conflict, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

The total includes 1,120 casualties recorded in the last 24 hours alone.

Beyond the heavy human toll, Russia is also reported to have sustained severe losses in military equipment. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the following hardware has been destroyed or captured since the war began:

10,988 tanks

22,946 armored combat vehicles

53,999 vehicles and fuel tankers

29,865 artillery systems

1,428 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS)

1,191 air defense units

420 aircraft

340 helicopters

43,303 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)

28 naval vessels, including boats

1 submarine
