Uzbekistan Studies Azerbaijan’s Tax Practices to Boost Bilateral Economic Co-op

A delegation from Uzbekistan’s State Tax Committee visited Azerbaijan to learn about the practices of Azerbaijan's State Tax Service.

The delegation, led by Firdevs Mahmudov, Head of Uzbekistan's State Tax Committee, met with Orkhan Nazarli, Head of Azerbaijan's State Tax Service, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the high level of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, noting the successful implementation of agreements that have greatly enhanced bilateral economic cooperation.

The discussions focused on Azerbaijan’s experience in VAT administration and the results achieved in this area. Over the course of their three-day visit, the Uzbek delegation had the opportunity to explore in detail Azerbaijan's VAT administration system, including VAT deposit accounts, the VAT refund project, and the relevant legislative measures.

Earlier, on November 5, 2024, a separate meeting took place between Dilshoda Rasulova, Deputy Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Shahin Sadigov, Chairman of the Board of the Economic Scientific Research Institute under Azerbaijan's Economy Ministry. The two sides discussed ways to increase mutual trade, attract investments, and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
