Explosions and fires have been reported at key industrial sites in Russia's Orsk and Perm following drone strikes on major oil-related infrastructure.
In Orsk, more than 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, drones reportedly struck a large oil refinery in the early hours of the morning, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

The facility is believed to be the Orsknefteorgsintez refinery, one of Russia’s major processing plants handling millions of tons of crude oil annually. Local officials confirmed the incident and urged residents to stay indoors as emergency services responded.
In Perm, another drone strike reportedly hit an industrial site linked to oil transport infrastructure, triggering a fire. An unmanned aerial vehicle caused a blaze but said workers had been evacuated and no casualties were reported.
The strikes are part of a wider pattern of repeated attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure in recent weeks, with multiple oil and fuel facilities targeted across different regions.
Earlier incidents, including strikes on refineries in southern Russia such as Tuapse, have also resulted in fires and temporary evacuations, raising concerns about the vulnerability of critical energy infrastructure far from active frontlines.
Russian officials have described the attacks as “terrorist acts,” while maintaining that the national energy system remains stable despite the ongoing disruptions.
