Several flights have been redirected from Dubai International Airport after a drone incident caused a fire near the facility.
A number of incoming flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport in the Jebel Ali area following the incident, The Caspian Post reports.
The move came after the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announced that operations at Dubai International Airport-one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs-had been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure.
Officials said the drone attack sparked a fire at a fuel tank near the airport infrastructure. Emergency services responded quickly, and the blaze has since been successfully contained, according to authorities.
