Four Dead as Migrant Boat Sinks Off Türkiye’s Karaburun Coast

At least four people have died after a rubber boat carrying migrants sank off Türkiye’s coast of Karaburun in the Aegean Sea.

Police rescued two migrants and recovered four bodies, The Caspian Post informs per Turkish media.

Search operations for other missing passengers continue, utilizing a helicopter, a drone, five boats, and a larger vessel. The total number of people on board and their nationalities remain unknown.

Many migrants attempt this short but perilous route between Türkiye and nearby Greek islands, including Samos, Rhodes, and Lesbos, which serve as entry points to the EU.
