On December 12, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev, Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Viktor Mahmudov, and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, visited one of Azerbaijan's commando military units.
The visit began with the laying of flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev located on the territory of the military unit, honoring the memory of the Great Leader, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.
Colonel General Hasanov, together with the Uzbek military delegation, inspected the firing range, soldiers’ barracks, weapons room, warehouse, and canteen, familiarizing themselves with the conditions created for the personnel.
After reviewing the simulation system presented by the Ministry of Defense Industry in the unit’s sports hall, the guests observed the servicemen’s training sessions.
The delegation was also shown the activities of commandos on the mountain commando rappel tower and the scout trail.
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), weapons, vehicles, specialized equipment, and other combat assets produced by the Ministry of Defense Industry and military industry companies were demonstrated to the visitors.
Weapons, ammunition, equipment, and combat vehicles currently in service with the Azerbaijan Army were also presented to the Uzbek delegation, along with detailed information about their tactical and technical characteristics.
The visit holds significant importance for strengthening mutual cooperation, expanding the exchange of experience, and further developing relations between the defense authorities of both countries.
