Knife Attack at Russian School Leaves Several Hurt

A shocking incident occurred at a school in Odintsovo, Russia's Moscow Region, where a secondary school pupil who was involved in a destructive youth movement attacked fellow pupils with a knife, leaving several injured.

Children were evacuated from the school, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

During the incident, the assailant stabbed a school security guard, sprayed a gas canister, and then fatally wounded the 10-year-old pupil. The attack took place in a general education school in the Gorki-2 settlement.

This follows a similar knife attack in Saint Petersburg the previous day, where a ninth-grade pupil stabbed a 29-year-old teacher. The teacher was hospitalized, and the incident is believed to have been triggered by a poor grade. A criminal case has been opened under Russia’s Criminal Code for attempted murder.
