A serious fire has erupted at a hostel in Golyanovo district of Russia's capital Moscow.
The blaze started in a building on Montazhnaya Street in the eastern part of the city, The Caspian Post reports via Info24.
Preliminary reports suggest that as many as 600 people may have been inside the facility at the time of the incident. The fire has been assigned a second-degree complexity level, indicating a significant emergency response effort.
The flames have already engulfed several hundred square meters of the building. Emergency officials warn that gas cylinders are stored inside, raising concerns about further escalation as the fire continues to spread.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, many occupants managed to evacuate on their own before rescue teams arrived. No immediate mass casualties have been confirmed at this stage.
Emergency services remain on-site, with ambulances stationed nearby.
