New Russian Precision Bomb Reportedly Appears Over Ukraine

A new Russian long-range precision-guided bomb, reportedly designated UMPB-5R, has been spotted in the skies over the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih.

Video footage showing the reported munition was published by the Osvedomitel group on VKontakte, according to Gazeta.ru.

The bomb is said to feature an upgraded unified glide and correction module designed for extended range, along with its own turbojet engine. These systems give the munition an estimated range of up to 200 kilometers.

The UMPB-5R’s guidance system is designed to withstand electronic warfare interference, which they say allows it to maintain a high level of accuracy.

The munition is difficult for Ukrainian air-defense systems to intercept.
