Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have concluded talks in New Delhi after a 45-minute meeting.

During the meeting, Modi presented Putin with a Russian-language edition of the ancient Indian text Tirukkural. The Indian prime minister said the work, which addresses morality, compassion and governance, could help strengthen humanitarian ties between the two countries, according to TASS.

Putin and Modi agreed to continue efforts to strengthen their special and privileged strategic partnership, while also discussing cooperation across key areas of bilateral relations.

Putin also invited Modi to visit Russia for the 24th annual Russia-India summit. Modi accepted the invitation and plans to travel to Russia.

The dates for the summit will be agreed through diplomatic channels based on the sides’ mutual convenience.

Putin arrived in India for a three-day working visit to take part in events related to the 18th BRICS Summit.
