Russia and Ukraine have again exchanged prisoners of war (POWs), with each side returning 160 captured military personnel.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense said that 160 Russian servicemen were returned from territory controlled by Ukraine, while 160 Ukrainian prisoners of war were handed over to Kyiv in exchange, The Caspian Post reports via TASS.
The returned Russian soldiers are currently in Belarus, where they are receiving assistance and support before being transferred to Russia for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova is reportedly working with the returning servicemen during the initial stages of their recovery.
The ministry also noted that the United Arab Emirates played a humanitarian mediation role in facilitating the exchange, continuing its involvement in efforts to support prisoner swaps between the two sides.
