Russia’s Defense Ministry has said that its forces took control of the settlement of Zalyznychne in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region.

The units from the “Vostok” military grouping advanced deeper into Ukrainian defensive positions and secured the settlement, The Caspian Post reports via Turkish media.

The statement also claimed that Ukrainian forces suffered losses in personnel and equipment during the fighting.

The reported figures and battlefield developments could not be independently verified.

Russian officials further stated that strikes were carried out against multiple Ukrainian military units, including brigades and battalions, operating in the same direction.

The claimed advance comes amid ongoing intense fighting across southern and eastern Ukraine, where both sides continue to report territorial gains and losses as hostilities persist.
