Russian forces have struck critical energy infrastructure in southern Odesa region, Ukraine, triggering a fire and causing power outages across several communities.
The attack damaged an energy facility in the southern part of the region, while an administrative building was also hit, The Caspian Post reports via Governor of Odesa Region Oleh Kiper's message on Telegram.
Authorities said a fire broke out at the site following the strike. Emergency crews were dispatched to contain the blaze, assess the damage, and begin restoration work. No casualties were immediately reported.
According to officials, the attack partially cut electricity to settlements in three local communities. Critical facilities have switched to backup power from generators as repairs continue.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force reported drone activity in the area, noting that aerial targets were moving toward the Izmail area.
