A day of mourning has been declared on October 24 in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region following a tragic explosion at a factory in Kopeysk, where at least 10 people lost their lives.
“In connection with the tragedy in the Kopeysk city district, October 24 will be a day of mourning in the Chelyabinsk region. Flags across the region will be lowered, and cultural institutions and broadcasters are advised to cancel entertainment events,” Chelyabinsk governor Alexey Teksler said, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
The latest updates confirm that 18 people were injured in the blast, with 13 receiving outpatient care.
Earlier reports had put the death toll at 12.
