Russian Drone Strikes Turkish Ship in Black Sea

A Russian drone has carried out a targeted strike on the Turkish vessel VIVA in the Black Sea.

The ship, carrying 11 Turkish citizens, was traveling along the “grain corridor” to Egypt with a cargo of sunflower oil, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

The Ukrainian military stated that the strike occurred in the open sea within Ukraine’s exclusive economic zone, but outside the range of its air defenses.

The Ukrainian Navy condemned the attack, saying Russia is grossly violating international maritime law. Such actions directly contradict the fundamental principles of freedom of navigation.

Officials confirmed that the crew was unharmed, and the ship is continuing toward its port of destination in Egypt. Footage of the drone strike’s impact on the vessel has been released by the Ukrainian Navy.
