A Rossiya Airlines passenger plane sustained damage during pre-flight taxiing at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport when its tail was struck by the wing of another aircraft.
The incident occurred as flight FV6097, bound for St. Petersburg, was preparing for takeoff. Preliminary reports suggest the wingtip of an adjacent aircraft made contact with the tail section of the Rossiya plane, causing damage, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
Following the incident, technical teams promptly inspected the aircraft. Passengers were safely disembarked and subsequently boarded a replacement aircraft to continue their journey.
The Northwestern Transport Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that neither passengers nor crew were injured in the incident. Authorities have announced the formation of a commission to investigate the cause and circumstances of the collision.
