The TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu aviation, space and technology festival has opened at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport in Türkiye, bringing together technology competitions, air shows, exhibitions and science events.

The festival runs from September 30 to October 4 and is being held for the 15th time this year, TRT Haber reports.

Organized by Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation and STM, the festival covers an area of 191,000 square meters.

The program includes technology competitions, aviation demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops, concerts, stage performances, simulators and scientific activities.

The flight program features the SOLOTÜRK and Turkish Stars aerobatic teams, along with military and civilian aircraft. Visitors can see ATAK helicopters, HÜRKUŞ aircraft, and ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned aerial vehicles. Ground and naval equipment will also be on display.

More than 1.6 million participants from 99 countries have taken part in the technology competitions, with 2,000 teams reaching the finals. Finalists will receive financial support, while the total prize pool exceeds 100 million Turkish liras (around $2 million).

Şanlıurfa will host finals in 14 technology categories, including cybersecurity, blockchain, fintech, air defense and communications systems, agricultural technologies, robotics, medical technologies and unmanned systems.
