A tourist minibus narrowly escaped disaster in North Ossetia, Russia, after being caught in a rockfall while returning from the Mamison resort.
The incident occurred overnight on February 22 along the Transcaucasian Highway. Rocks began tumbling onto the roadway just as the minibus with 18 tourists was passing, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
Thanks to the driver’s quick reflexes, the vehicle avoided serious damage, and none of the passengers were hurt. The minibus sustained only minor scratches and dents. Authorities have highlighted the importance of caution in mountainous areas, especially during winter when rockfalls are more frequent.
