An oil pumping station near Almetyevsk in Russia’s Tatarstan region erupted in flames overnight after a reported drone attack, sending shockwaves through the industrial zone and alarming local residents.

Multiple loud explosions were heard on February 23, followed by a massive blaze that lit up the sky. Authorities said the fire was caused by falling debris from drones that were intercepted and neutralized before reaching their intended targets, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Dramatic videos circulating online show towering flames and thick black smoke billowing from the facility, even as officials insist the situation is under control and no casualties have been reported.

Geolocated footage reviewed by local monitoring channels indicates the fire broke out at an oil pumping station near the village of Kaleykino. Emergency crews remain at the scene, working to extinguish the fire and secure the area.
