Turkish Defense Firm ASELSAN Enters Europe with KORKUT

Turkish defense company ASELSAN has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Czech firm Excalibur International (part of the CSG Group) to create a joint venture in Europe and promote the KORKUT self-propelled air defense system on the Tatra Force 6×6 wheeled platform.

The partnership aims to expand joint defense capabilities for both European and global markets, strengthening defense cooperation not only in Central and Eastern Europe but worldwide, The Caspian Post reports via Turkish media.

The joint venture will focus on technical collaboration in air defense, electronic warfare, smart munitions, and border security, with localization of production planned at CSG facilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

One of the first concrete outcomes of the partnership will be the integration of KORKUT onto the Tatra Force 6×6 platform, creating a system tailored for both European and international customers as a strong alternative to existing European air defense systems.

With the increasing importance of countering drones on modern battlefields, KORKUT on the highly mobile Tatra platform is expected to quickly attract attention and secure a position in the global defense market.

Miloš Sivara, CEO of Excalibur International, said KORKUT offers a highly efficient solution against hostile drones, using precision programmable munitions that make the cost of neutralizing a drone comparable to the cost of the drone itself-a level of efficiency not achievable with traditional air defense missiles.

Ahmet Akyol, CEO of ASELSAN, emphasized that the collaboration strengthens ASELSAN’s industrial presence in Europe and globally, offering combat-proven air defense solutions adapted for European and allied forces. He highlighted that KORKUT on Tatra combines advanced sensors and fire control systems with high mobility and reliability, providing a flexible solution for modern, dynamic battlefields.
