Türkiye, Georgia Expand Healthcare Cooperation with New MoU

On Tuesday, Türkiye and Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the field of health care.

The document was signed during an official visit to Georgia by Kemal Memisoglu, the Turkish health minister, The Caspian Post reports, citing Anadolu.

According to a statement from Georgia’s Health Ministry, Memisoglu met with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Sarjveladze in the capital Tbilisi.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also met with Memisoglu and his delegation in Tbilisi, said a statement by Kobakhidze’s office.

The statement said the meeting addressed strategic cooperation between Turkey and Georgia and their bilateral relations in the field of health care.

“During the meeting, it was emphasized that the close cooperation established between the two countries in the health sector has yielded tangible and meaningful results, contributing to the provision of quality health services and improving financial access to medicines for citizens,” said the statement.

Kobakhidze said the pact signed today would help further develop cooperation between Türkiye and Georgia.

As part of his visit, Memisoglu also met with Zaza Lominadze, head of the Georgian Parliament’s Health Committee, and visited the Lugar Laboratory in Tbilisi.
