Ukraine's Odesa Suffers New Strikes on Homes, Industry

Ukraine’s southern port city of Odesa has been hit, with strikes damaging civilian and industrial infrastructure across multiple districts as emergency crews rushed to assist residents.

Head of the Odesa City Military Administration Serhiy Lysak has said that the attack affected two parts of the city, The Caspian Post reports via Lysak's message in Telegram.

A two-story residential building sustained a direct hit, partially destroying its roof and damaging apartment floors. Blast waves shattered windows in nearby buildings and damaged parked vehicles. Educational facilities, including a school and a kindergarten, were also impacted.

Officials said an industrial enterprise was also struck, with its administrative building catching fire after the impact. Firefighters were quickly deployed and managed to contain the blaze, while specialists continue assessing the full extent of the damage.

Emergency services evacuated four people from affected areas, and two women received medical assistance at the scene. Authorities said casualty figures are being specified as inspections continue.

Municipal teams have begun recovery work, boarding up broken windows and inspecting buildings for structural safety. Damage assessments and cleanup operations remain ongoing.

The Odesa strike comes amid a broader escalation of attacks across Ukraine. Earlier, strikes on critical infrastructure in the Vinnytsia region left dozens of settlements without electricity. Separate overnight attacks also targeted Kyiv, damaging buildings, sparking fires, and injuring civilians.

The latest developments unfold as diplomatic efforts continue, with Ukraine, Russia, and U.S. representatives expected to hold talks in Abu Dhabi this week. Analysts warn that ongoing strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure during the winter months risk serious humanitarian consequences, particularly for heating and power supply.
