Terror Threat Triggers School Evacuation in Russia

A school in Russia was evacuated on February 3 following a reported terrorist threat.

The incident occurred in the village of Pyshma, located in the Sverdlovsk Region, where all students and staff were urgently evacuated from the school building, The Caspian Post reports, citing Russian media.

Security forces also blocked the road near the facility.

According to the administration, the evacuation was triggered by a bomb threat received via email. “A letter was sent to the administration secretary stating that the school was mined and that if the building was not evacuated within two and a half hours and the children were not taken out, the consequences would be dire,” the statement said.

The administration added that information about the threat was immediately passed to the head of the Pyshma Municipal District and his deputies. “They took all necessary measures and contacted emergency services. The building is currently being inspected, and the results are not yet known,” officials said.

Police officers, personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and paramedics are currently on duty at the scene as inspections continue.
