Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Presidents Discuss Progress on Joint Projects

On the sidelines of the ongoing trilateral summit in Khujand, a meeting was held between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan.

The leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the spring holiday Navruz and the holy celebration of Ramadan Hayit - Eid al-Fitr, wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being to the brotherly peoples of both nations, The Caspian Post reports citing Uza.uz.

The outcomes of the trilateral talks held earlier today were highly praised, with the signing of the Treaty on the Junction Point of the State Borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan recognized as the main achievement.

The progress in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level was expressed with satisfaction. Since the beginning of the year, bilateral trade has increased by 70 percent. Industrial cooperation is developing successfully across various sectors of the economy, supported in part by the joint Investment Fund.

The ways to expedite major regional projects in energy and transport communications, including the construction of the China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan railway, were discussed.

The heads of state emphasized the importance of maintaining active interregional contacts and promoting cultural and humanitarian exchange.

The presidents also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of upcoming high-level events.
