Kazakhstan remained one of Uzbekistan’s top three main trading partners from January to April 2025.
Data from the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan shows that in the first four months of this year, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover grew by 16.3 percent compared to last year. To date, Uzbekistan has established trade relations with 183 countries, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.Among Uzbekistan’s main partners, China leads, with bilateral trade exceeding $4.1 billion during the reporting period, accounting for 17 percent of total turnover. Russia ranks second with 15.1 percent. The third-largest partner is Kazakhstan, with trade turnover between the two countries reaching nearly $1.4 billion (5%) from January to April, an increase of $168 million compared to the same period last year.
Tashkent and Astana aim to raise annual trade turnover to $10 billion. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to launch four additional trade corridors to achieve this.
It is worth recalling that trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan last year exceeded $4.2 billion.
