Azerbaijan Dominates Karate Events at 3rd CIS Games with Nine Medals

Azerbaijani karate athletes delivered a stellar performance at the 3rd CIS Games, hosted on home soil, by securing a total of nine medals - three gold, two silver, and four bronze.

Gold medals were claimed by Madina Sadiqova (55kg), Nuran Rzazade (67kg), and Roman Heydarov in the individual kata competition, all of whom stood proudly atop the podium, The Caspian Post reports.

Farid Savadov (60kg) and Nazrin Piriyeva (55kg) earned silver medals, while bronze went to Inji Azizova (50kg), Aslan Dostuyev (67kg), and kata competitors Ramila Heydarova and Rovshan Aliyev.

The strong showing highlights Azerbaijan's growing strength in karate across both kumite and kata disciplines.
