Kazakhstan’s Dmitriy Panarin claimed the gold medal at the YONEX SUNRISE Bangladesh International Series 2025 Badminton Tournament in Dhaka, the National Olympic Committee reported.
He emerged as the top performer in the men’s singles competition, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
In the final match, Panarin faced Malaysia’s Mohamad Rushdan and secured a 2-1 victory. The Kazakhstani athlete won the opening game 21-17, dropped the second 14-21, and dominated the deciding game 21-10 to clinch the title.
Earlier in the semifinals, Panarin defeated another Malaysian opponent, Kong Wei Xiang, winning the match in straight sets with a 2-0 scoreline.
