Kyrgyzstan Hosts World Billiards Championship

The grand opening of the World Billiards Championship was held in the city of Jalal-Abad, with members of Parliament, led by Deputy Speaker Nurlanbek Azygaliev, attending the ceremony, according to the Parliament's press service.

More than 80 players from more than 20 countries are taking part in the tournament, The Caspian Post reports citing 24.kg.

In his speech, Nurlanbek Azygaliev noted that this sporting event has become a platform for strengthening friendship, demonstrating professionalism, discipline and accuracy.

«The popularity of billiards among Kyrgyzstanis has been growing recently. We have many athletes who successfully compete at international competitions. Our compatriots Dastan Lepshakov, Aziz Madaminov, Kanat Sydykov glorify Kyrgyz billiards at world competitions,» he said.

The Deputy Speaker emphasized that billiards is an intellectual sport that requires patience and strategic thinking.

«Every precise shot is the result of extensive training, experience and talent. Therefore, let the tournament be accompanied by bright emotions, and let the strongest win,» he added.

The championship’s initiator, member of Parliament Shairbek Tashiev, wished the participants success and stressed the significance of hosting such an important sporting event in Kyrgyzstan.
