A magnitude 5.0 earthquake has struck Afghanistan, with tremors felt across neighboring Tajikistan.
According to Tajikistan’s Geophysical Service, the seismic activity was recorded on Afghan territory but was also noticeable in Tajikistan. In the capital city of Dushanbe, residents felt shaking estimated at 2-3 points, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
The Tajik Committee for Emergency Situations said that, based on preliminary information, there have been no reports of damage or casualties so far. Authorities continue monitoring the situation.
