India’s University to Train Students from Tajikistan

Tajikistan’s International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship has signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi to train students in India.

The partnership includes academic exchanges, joint research projects, and faculty internships under Indian government programs, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Tajikistan and India share a long history of diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties. India recognized Tajikistan’s independence in 1991, and the two countries established formal diplomatic relations in 1992. Over the years, cooperation has expanded in such areas as trade, defense, education, and culture. India has supported infrastructure and development projects in Tajikistan, including hydropower and transport initiatives, while Tajik students often pursue higher education in Indian universities. Both countries are also part of regional forums promoting security and economic collaboration in Central and South Asia.
